Well, we are absolutely loving the Winter Olympics this year!!
A Jamaican bobsleigh team for the first time in 24 years – incredible! Our very own Charlotte Bankes getting to the quarter finals in the snowboarding & Kamila (a 15-year-old Russian Figure Skater) making history as the first female to land a quadruple jump AND a triple axel – just wow!
These athletes are made of something different! Taking extreme sports to a whole new level. Who wakes up one morning and thinks – I’ll just find an icy hill and throw myself headfirst down it on as much as a tea-tray! Or when going from a lovely ski / snowboard down a gentle green slope in a resort to – I think I’ll fly off this ginormous jump and do a triple backflip?!
Our resident snowboarder Emily absolutely loves hitting the mountains in the winter but very much sticks to the gentle slopes and when feeling extra brave; will try a few jumps in the kid’s snow parks! Here she is in action (admitting it’s likely she ended up in a heap seconds after this photo was taken!!)
Although GB haven’t won any medals just yet (we came so close in the curling!) there’s still time & we’re supporting the team all the way. Surely we have the Skeleton in the bag! 🙌
