We’re not sure that this is the official title of 2022, but why not follow it anyway?
We think it’s relatively safe to say that the majority of us living in western society are very keen to slow global warming, and care about what is happening to the planet; but as the reality of it is quite far from our doorstep, it’s easy for us to put it to the backs of our minds. We don’t have turtles hatching on our beaches, struggling to make it to the ocean because there’s a plastic bottle in the way.
We think it’s ok to admit that we don’t all buy something with the environment in mind. We shop as we always have, maybe taking note that not everything is in plastic packaging any more, but generally not really thinking about it. Then, there’ll be a news story, a documentary or we’ll see an image of David Attenborough on our screens to remind us that we could be doing a bit more, and immediately get back to researching what more we can reuse or recycle.
The team here at Coast have been thinking of ways we can help you help the environment, and spread the message that there really is no Planet B, and this is our chance to preserve this wonderful place we call home and allow future generations enjoy all the things we have over the past many 100’s of years.
In 2022, we’ll be launching our very own scheme so that you know your purchases are having a positive impact on our environment. A lot of research must go in to this, so that we can do it right. We don’t want to ‘green wash’ you, we want you to be confident that you can do business with us knowing that something positive is happening too. We can’t say that it will be as soon as the clock strikes midnight on 1st January, but we can say that it will be our mission for 2022; and we’ll let you now about it, with all of the bells and whistles, when it launches.
